Artist Biography

Paolien Hung is a fine artist based in Napa Valley, California, with over two decades of experience in painting and sculpturing. Originally hailing from the Formosa, known as Taiwan, Paolien's upbringing in the southern countryside of her aural village has been an inspiration to her creative eyes. Her love for mother nature fuels her passion for life, her sense of naturalistic beauty manifests in her artwork.
In her early days as an artist, Paolien started experimenting with clay and paint, experiencing a creative spark and found herself constantly gravitating towards beautiful landscapes and vibrant animals, and never ceased in cultivating the lit ember of her inner artist. It is clear that her paintings channel her impressionist influences with strong sincerity for life's poignant emotions. Yet, with a shade of humor centered on the characteristics of human nature as seen in the chicken painting series. Through the sculptures, her post-modern artistry depicts human decadence in the modern world. Paolien is a versatile artist able to cross different media with various themes.
Through her craft, Paolien exhibits her belief that we all must look at things differently from time to time, and it is by viewing the world through different unique lenses brought by art that we can find true meanings and interconnectivity with all things in our surroundings.
